Porter to play Touchline Live, Hullbridge

13-11-29_TouchlineLive_Hullbridge_thmb_150x150As part of their UK Stone Chucker Tour, Porter play Touchline Live at Hullbridge Sports Club in Hockley, Essex on Friday 29th November 2013.

The gig sees a new addition to the band’s brass section Mr. Joe Green on saxophone (nephew of Fleetwood Mac legend Peter Green), alongside our very own Dave Barlow. The band fronted by songwriter Gary Porter also includes the multi-talented Dave Melling on keys and occasional trumpet plus the rhythm section comprising of the impeccable Geoff Conway on upright bass and ex ‘Sensational Alex Harvey Band‘ drummer Phil Mount. Gary Porter - preview awardsThe Blue Angel Awards took place last night at Southend’s Preview and local hero Gary Porter was invited to present Best Act & Best Newcomer.

Brett Puffett won Best Newcomer and the Best Act award went to Dave Woodcock on a night that saw live performance from a number of acts including guest artist The West Brothers.

Porter speaks to Blues Matters!

BM71 150x150Following a very positive review of debut album ‘Can’t Keep Still’ describing the band as ‘sleazy and sophisticated’ and also ‘New Blood’ feature, Gary Porter took some time out from the studio recording the new Porter album ‘Stone Chucker’ to speak to Pete Sergeant from Blues Matters! magazine.

New song debut on BBC Cambridge session

BBC CambridgePorter made a triumphant return to BBC Cambridge with a session on Sue Marchant’s Big Night In featuring the tracks ‘Don’t Wanna Work No More’ from the album ‘Can’t Keep Still’ and new, bluesier number ‘Can’t See The Wood For The Trees’.

We would like to thank Sue for having Porter in the studio and for all the support she has given the band. A great way to kick off what looks set to be a very promising 2013 indeed!

Sue Marchant invites Porter for final Big Night In.

Porter_Sue-Marchant_175x175_sqrPorter are honoured to have been invited back to BBC Cambridge by Sue Marchant for her final Big Night In show. If you enjoyed the band’s previous session on her show then you’re in luck as the band are set to return on Thursday 3rd January to wish Sue best of luck in her next venture. Porter will be playing live on the show some current live favourites and some material.

The band previously played Sue’s Big Night In around June 2012 where they played tracks ‘River’ and ‘Emily’ from their current album ‘Can’t Keep Still’

After a great 2012 for the band, this radio session looks set to build on the success for an even better 2013 with plenty more to come from Porter.
